How green are you?

Today is a good moment to talking about environmental issues, because in this moment the earth has a huge problem of pollution and every day is getting worse (every day increase the water pollution, the air pollution, the atmospheric pollution, etc.). The humankind causes this problem to the earth and that is the worst part. But we have time to change this situation. This is the moment to doing the things right, to help our planet and save it and save us of destruction (or another dark future).

Well ... we have a problem because nobody in the school, high school, college or university tells us about the environmental problem. Maybe a couple of friends can tell us a little or a teacher of biology, but they don’t say us how we can solve this. The solution is search in the web information about the environmental problem and how we can solve this problem: what is it, how we can stop the pollution or our carbon footprint, how we can recycle the old things, etc.

For my part, I use internet to watch videos (youtube.com) how I can contribute to decrease my carbon footprint, like recycling things (old plastics bottles, old bags, and another old things). I contribute riding bike or walking in the short distance too. Also I recycle the carton box and all the soda or beer can.

There are many organizations that you can support, Greenpeace is the most popular, and you could be a member donating a few of money. I’m actually no a member of any organization, I do the work for my own. I would like to separate the thrash in “plastic”, “metal” and “organic” but at least all the thrash (in Chile) go for the same part, even if it is apart. 

I think that our society are missing the appreciation for the nature and concentrate in disposable products. This situation could be our bigger mistake and I don’t want to know how this will finish.

Hello readers, today I'm talking about anime (animated cartoons) :D, I really like it this animated series because the history of them are very freaky, funniest and some of them have a big argument behind. This passion rise when I was a little kid and I spent all my time watching the Tv Show "El club de los tigritos" (after call "Invasion"). In this Tv show I watch anime like "Doraemon", "Digimon", "Pokemon", "Slam Dunk", "Shaman King", "Hunter x Hunter", "Evangelion", etc... That was really nice time because I watch all this series after school... I'ts was a kind of relax formula.

Until this days I'm still watching anime on internet. On this days I'm watching Hunter x Hunter, one of my favorite, his argument is about a child (Gon) seeking his father (Ging) and on his way he meets 3 best friends (Killua, Kurapica and Leorio) that support him to get through different challenges. This anime like me a lot because tack about friendship and the will to make things happens. In few words, is about the determination to getting success in something that you really want. I think similar animated series are Shaman King, Doraemon, Digimon and Pokemon. In all of these, the implicit argument is "go out and make some friends, because they will help you in the future".. and that is a nice advice. As you see it, I like a lot the anime related to friendship.

Whats is the link between violent video games and aggression?

The link between violent video games and aggression it’s not a new topic in our life, since 1950 psychologists, psychiatrics and other professional want to answer that question. Fredric Wertham tried to link the excessive violence of comic books and becoming delinquent in his book “Seduction of the Innocent” (1950).  This link has been an important topic in this days because Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) and Call of duty has been release.

The common sense is inflexible and accepts the obvious connection between violent video games and aggression. But does really exists that link? There are many studies and papers about this topic, which never found a strong connection.

The main problem with these studies is the difficulty to compare all the results, because every investigation or paper measures a different aspect of the aggression or violent behavior. Some studies says “yes, there is a link”, but only in the short time and when exists a competitive task and the loser will be punish. Other studies say “no, there is not a link” when the participant has a positive goal in mind (like protect a friend) the tendency to have a violent behavior was reduced. However exists a third position, in a meta-analysis of Ferguson and Kilburn (2009) argued that many investigations “use poorly validated or unreliable aggression measures” and there is a tendency to publish studies that have a stronger link of violent video games and aggression.

As I told you before, doesn’t exist a stronger link between violent video games and aggression or still the researchers doesn’t know how measure and connect these two concept. So the question is not answer yet and exist many factors to keep in mind.

Videogames!!!

Hello! today I'm talking about videogames... I really like it because I can spend all my free time in a funny way.

When I was a little boy I play Mortal Kombat 4 on my PlayStation... that was my favorite game...and was very savage, bloody and exciting ...usually I played Mortal Kombat with my friends and was very funny the fatalitys because it was bizarre and cruel. Also I played games about racing cars (Need for Speed, Gran turismo, etc,) and adventure games like Final Fantasy 7.

After MK4 I played God of War (I and II) on the PlayStation 2 of my best friend... that game for me was the perfect fusion between Mortal Kombat and adventures... in that game you can smash everything, fight with everyone, and kill anything that moves. The game of cars never forget it and I played Ned For Speed Most Wanted (I think that I really love NFS). Also Guitar hero was other game that I played but I was really awful.

Now I play League of Legends (LOL) very often. This is a game for PC (computer) and it is a RPG (Role Playing Gaming). In this game you have to play with another 2 or 4 guys online. I usually play with my friends and is very fun because we are talking all the time on Skype.
